Trafalgar House, Specialist Eating Disorder Service

Trafalgar House is a 5 care home that provides care and support for individuals with eating disorders. Treatment is available for those who are moving on from inpatient stay and required that gap or bridge before settling home. And also available to those who do not meet hospital admission requirement and use this facility as a way of avoiding hospital admission, and at the sametime fighting the disorder. It is also for those who have struggled with their illness to the point where they cannot safely or adequately be treated as outpatients but have utilised acute inpatient treatment to the best of their ability. The programme focusses on the unique needs of each person and includes modest goals to help them reintroduce community pursuits.

 

The Multidisciplinary Team comprises the Registered Manager, Nurses, Support Workers, Therapists, Dietician, and Occupational Therapist. Specialised Support Workers are always available for general support, including overnight. The care approach aims to provide high-level support while also promoting self-care, illness management, and independence.

 

Each resident has their own large bedroom, most of which are en-suite, and allocated according to risk assessment and availability. There are also various shared spaces for clients to use, including lounge areas, dining areas, and gardens.

 

The location of the house is in Milton Keynes and 2 minutes of the M1 and offers many opportunities for education and employment.
